IFS Therapy (Parts Work) in Southfield, Michigan

Find clarity, compassion, and calm by understanding your inner parts.

Do you ever feel like you’re at war with yourself?

One part of you wants to slow down and rest, but another insists you can’t afford to stop. One day you’re confident in your decisions, and the next you’re full of doubt. These inner conflicts can feel exhausting, like you’re constantly pulled in opposite directions.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Many of the women I work with describe it like this:

  • “I feel like I have two (or more) voices in my head arguing with each other.”

  • “I’ll decide something, but then immediately second-guess myself.”

  • “I don’t know what’s the real me and what’s just my anxiety talking.”

This push-and-pull can feel maddening. But what if these different voices weren’t proof that something is wrong with you? What if they were actually parts of you, each with their own role, intention, and history?

IFS Therapy helps you stop fighting with yourself. Instead of battling your inner voices, you’ll learn how to understand them and find a calmer way forward. Schedule a consultation and take the first step toward that shift.

What Is IFS Therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS Therapy), often called parts work, is an evidence-based approach that helps you understand your inner world. Instead of seeing conflicting thoughts and feelings as flaws, IFS helps you recognize them as parts of yourself that are working hard—sometimes in unhelpful ways—to protect you.

With IFS Therapy, you can learn to:

  • Externalize your inner voices so they don’t feel overwhelming or consuming.

  • Understand their purpose rather than battling with them.

  • Bring curiosity and compassion to parts you usually criticize or avoid.

  • Connect with your core Self—the calm, grounded, wise part of you that can lead with clarity.

How Parts Work Helps

By exploring your parts through IFS Therapy, many people experience:

  • Relief from the constant tug-of-war between inner critics, worriers, and perfectionists.

  • Greater clarity and confidence in decisions.

  • A kinder, more compassionate relationship with themselves.

  • The ability to respond to stress with calm instead of reactivity.

Instead of trying to “silence” parts of yourself, you learn to listen to them differently. That’s where real healing begins.

I use IFS Therapy principles in a flexible, integrative way that’s tailored to you. You don’t have to know all the terminology or follow a rigid structure—we’ll move at your pace.

Because no two women’s needs are alike, I bring together parts work, somatic therapy, and my experience supporting high-achieving women and new moms.

  • For high-achieving women, IFS helps untangle the push-pull between the perfectionist parts that demand more and the exhausted parts that just want to rest. Instead of feeling like you’re constantly falling short, we’ll create space for self-compassion and balance.

  • For women navigating postpartum depression and anxiety, parts work can make sense of the mix of emotions—joy, fear, resentment, love—that often feel overwhelming or contradictory. By working with these parts, you can reconnect with your core Self and feel more grounded in your new identity.

  • With somatic therapy, we won’t just stay in your head—we’ll also notice how these parts show up in your body. This creates deeper awareness and healing, especially when emotions feel stuck or overwhelming.

Whether it’s an anxious part, a self-critical part, or a protective part that keeps you from getting too close to others, we’ll meet them with curiosity and compassion. Together, we’ll work toward building a relationship with your parts that brings more peace, self-trust, and balance.
